So about a week ago i open cydia to find no picture of icons and only text. the text read make my life easy or unjailbreak. I made my life easy as recommended by the dev team. However, cydia still only has text no picture and also says the my shsh blob it ios 4.
On a side note about a month ago I restore to ios4 but then though the help of a friend downgraded to 3.1.2.
Can someone please help. No ROCK app will load(rock was installed though cydia) and no cydia multimedia app will load.

There are no SHSH blobs for 3.x for your iDevice. They are not required for any iOS version below 4.0

Need more details on how you jailbroke and whether you restored from iTunes backup before we can help you.

I used both redsnow and sprite. But I first had to downgrade my ios from 4.0 to 3.1.2. Then JB with redsnow. Then restored the touch and now I am running Sprite JB on the touch. I understand that sprite not supported here but I was just wondering why cydia is saying I have a 4.0 shsh. Also why it only see text and no pictures.

Apple added in software based SHSH to the Ipod 2G and iPhone 3G with IOS 4.0. You cannot restore to stock iOS 4.0 or higher without SHSH now (this is true for all devices that support iOS 4.0)

To help with this, Cydia now supports backing up your 4.0.x SHSH.

Ok so i restored through itunes using a 3.1.2 file I download from online. Then I used redsnow to JB. However, I restored back to the 3.1.2 file that I downloaded. Then my friend told me I should try sprite. So I reJB with sprite.
I am new to this ipod JB system so if you need any more information I will need an explantion on how to gather the information for you.

But I do thank you for trying to help me through this process.

Spirit is supported here (it's not called Sprite)

My suggestion is to restore to 4.0 again and try the new web based jailbreakme
