Default will the kmac method work?

Something I was thinking about. Can the kmac downgrade method work on the touch? That is what would happen if the iPhone firmware was put on the iTouch? Would it allow jailbreak? I have read reports that the iTuoch actually displays as an iPhone on certain iTunes.

I will try to keep thinking of different ways. If we can trick iTunes into thinking that the iPod touch is an iPhone, it may just be possible. When I attempt to downgrade iTunes just gives me an error message that there was a problem. It is interesting that iTunes didn't say anything about the software being iPhone firmware.

I honestly can't understand how Iphone firmware would work on the Itouch. Though they're very similar they are still different machines.

I'm also confused Aaron. In this thread you say that you have not downgraded your Itouch but in another thread (here), you claim that you have. So what's the truth?

The ipod touch and iPhone are actually almost the same. They have near identical processors. Also remember the "iPhone has been disabled" message on the iPod touch, that confirms that the os that the touch is running is just a modified iphone os. All they had to do was delete a bunch of applications and drivers, and viola!

Both the Iphone and the Itouch are running Mobile OSX it's true. If we had the ability to exchange drivers and aplications though, we would be able to create custom firmwares and none of this would be necessary.
