    Question Undo Jailbreak?

    Hi,

I'll get my iPod Touch in a few days and want to jailbreak it. But I'm a little bit unsure if thats a good idea or not, because I don't speak english that well. So I wondred if its possible to restore the iPod Touch to its initial mode when something goes wrong during jailbreaking due to I misunderstood something in the tutorials or some other reason. Or maybe there will someday be an offical software update which interferes with the hack, so maybe it will be necessary to undo the jailbreak and other changes (and maybe unpdate and then redo jailbreaking, who knows). You see, I'm just over-worried a little bit, so please tell me if there might be any problems there...

    thanks for your time.

The iTouch can always be restored to a "virgin" (unjailbroken) state. I would recommend using Touchfree (assuming you use windows). You can get it here.

I just bricked mine tonite running the iJailBreak application. You *can* restore the iTouch. Hold the sleep and home buttons, wait for it to turn off, then wait for it to start booting. When you see the apple log release the sleep button and keep holding the home button. Plug it into your computer when it says to, iTunes recognizes and it says it needs a new firmware.

So this process would remove all your hacks and mods and restore to normal firmware.

So if something happened to my iPod when it was jailbroken and then I restored it, would Apple be able to tell and void my warranty?

    Question

Sounds easy enough..but is there a download link/mirror for the ipod touch firmware? I only have itunes at work and I'm not sure I can be connected and downloading it there....rather have it on a USB key and use it anywhere conveniently w/o download.

    Default iPhone Problems

I just installed jailbreak onto my iPhone. It works okay for the most part. During the installation process, I received an error message, so I had to restore my iphone. The directions that I was following me told me to restore my contacts before adding the installer onto my phone. I skipped that step for some reason and now have to enter in all my contacts manually.

I guess I wasn't too sure how this whole thing worked. I thought that I would be able to use it as usual but I wouldn't be able to receive updates through Apple. When I plug in my iPhone now iTunes doesn't recognize that it is even there. I am not able to sync my calendar or contacts and not able to transfer songs and/or programs from my computer to my phone. Is this normal? Is there some way to fix that? Can I restore my iPhone back to it's original configuration?

    Thanks,
    A
