Sorry: Little newbie confusion

I'll buy an iPod touch tomorrow and I want to jailbreak it.

If it would include 1.1.2 then I think I know what to do: just need to follow those instructions, right?: http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_1.1.2

If it will be an iPod with 1.1.1:
Is it okay to use the same tutorial http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_1.1.2 starting with step 5?
Or do I have to use the 74 steps method according to http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Manual_Windows_jailbreak?

Edit: Starting with step 5 turned out to wort fone.
