I need some help trying to find an alternative for my Mac for Itunes. :pie:
I had been using MediaMonkey as an alternative to Itunes for my Windows PC, but recently my Windows PC crashed. I got tired of crappy Windows so I decided to buy a Mac PC. :pie:
I have been trying to find a program that turns my Itouch into an external hard drive (such as MediaMonkey) for my Mac PC. If anybody has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
The market for iTunes alternatives is larger on windows. This is primarily because iTunes is much worse on windows than it is on Mac OS X. Additionally it seems that the expectations of windows users is quite different when it comes to media players/managers.
Look at MediaMonkey • View topic - MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple - especially the references to using winebottler/crossover - or seamless virtualization.

Personally, I just stick with iTunes - as I said it sucks less on OS X - especially post 8.x when they fixed many long standing performance problems.
I'm still new to Mac PCs so I need to learn how to use Wine.
The only reason I want a program like MediaMonkey is because Itunes doesn't recognize some of my music. It just so happens to be most of the good songs that don't work! Flash player will play the music but not Itunes... Not sure why!

If flash player (I assume you mean adobe flash) can play the audio - it is likely in either Nellymoser or Speex format.
I have been looking around and some people have told me that the reason that Itunes doesn't play or recognize some of my music is because the MP3 is corrupted. Is this true and if so, how can I fix it?
I'm frustrated because I bought some music from Beatport to listen on my Ipod and Itunes doesn't recognize the damn files.:fail
Beatport files are available either in WMA or MP3 - the 320k MP3 does not contain DRM [copy protection] (it does contain your email address - to help track who shares music illegally). I don't know about the WMA - probably no DRM there either.Quote:

I load 320k mp3 files into iTunes on a mac all the time. They work fine.
There are tools like Media Rage that can strip all or specified ID3 tags from a MP3 file. I find that in the rare cases where a MP3 won't work with iTunes that removing all ID3 tags via Media Rage and then re-adding specific tags fixes most of these problems.
