I see now there are various ways to "update" from a jailbreaked 1.2 to a similarly open 1.3.
But I also have plenty of applications, and data, on the Touch that I wouldn' like to lose (for instance I have a 2 Gb archive of the complete wikipedia text, which load time alone took hours).

Is there a way to *not erase the old apps* when passing from 1.2 to 1.3?

To further complexify things, I've also displaced all apps from the initial volume to the other, larger one, with symbolic links and all. won't this break everything during the update?

OTOH, if this can be helpful, changing unix ownerships via an ssh session is something I can do...

Thank you!
H.
