I have the new second gen of the itouch and I know it hasn't been jailbroken yet. In the meantime, are there any worthwhile paid/free applications worth getting? I've done some browsing but all of the top 25+ are games that don't seem interesting. Any really cool apps or games I should get?

it's a bit difficult to advise if we dont know your likes/dislikes. i've just upgraded to the 2.1 firmware (un-jail broken) recently and am absolutely enjoying downloading apps (free and paid) left right and center
but you might find everyone of them crap

This is true, I forgot to account for such things. What are you favorite apps? I'll at least go check them out and figure out if I like them or not

I like iCopter (easy and addictive game) and BreakClassic and JellyCar (i love this game!) and a show-offy app for your iPod - Lightsaber!

There are loads of useful ones too like WunderRadio (a radio for it, works through wi-fi) and WiFi Touchpad, wireless touchpad for Windows (i only have a windows )

Browse around there are literally thousands!

well , dont forget to use Fring for your IM and skype. u can also buy a headset with a mic in it ( like the iphone headset) to make voice calls.
