Hello guys, ive recently bought a used 16gb touch (preowned) and found its disabled! ("ipod disabled, connect to itunes message).

Ive downloaded the latest itunes but it tells me to put in the passcode (which I obviously dont know coz ive been screwed over).

Ive been searching for 2 whole days and tried all manual recovery methods but to no avail. Basically the "holding the power & home, letting go of power when apple logo shows method" & the "hold home while you plug the ipod in" method hasnt done anything for me, it still boots up normally and goes to the "ipod disabled connect to itunes screen".

Ive had no sleep for 48 hours now searching for the answer, please, im a desperate man!

you try jailbreaking ?

yes ive tried ziphone, it give me the error message "pairing error" presumably because its not already synced with itunes as this isnt the original pc the ipod has used (as i say i bought it preowned)

wow, you even try the refurb on ziphone or syncing it with itunes?

it wont sync with itunes coz its on the "disabled connect to itunes screen" (because someone has put the wrong passcode in too many times)

none of the force restore methods are working either!!!!

yeah i tried ziphone dude. Plus all of the methods of recovery/dfu mode arnt working either, it just boots as normal from the apple screen to th ipod is disabled, connect to itunes screen. When i try your dfu method: if the ipod is turned on: i hold power & home.....the slide to unlock screen comes up but the ipod doesnt reboot.

When the ipod is off: i hold power & home for 10 secs. Either i hold it a little too long and the ipod just reboots or even when i think ive timed the letting go of power button thing right, it still goes to the disabled screen.

Man im suffering!

the only thing i can think of is jailbraking with indepenece and sshing in to it and deleteting the password file, its a risky idea and the only thing i can think of, so do it at your own risky as i havnt even tried shuch a thing.....

Ok guys in honesty I have no idea what your talking about lol! I just want my ipod restored!!! Seriously depressed right now

Thanks man, well basically I dunno what firmware it is as I havt even been able to get onto it since buying it. When I started having trouble I called the place I bought it ( a small used phone shop) and the guy said to try the password "0000" and "1234"

I tried them and they didnt work (had to wait 15 minutes, then an hour to input the passcode again). On my last attempt it said "ipod locked connect to itunes" but my computer (win xp) isnt obviously the one its been originally synced with so itunes just tells me to "enter the passcode to use it with itunes"

So...with itunes not able to pair with it until i enter the code, things like ziphone etc wont work due to a "pairing issue". When I try the manual restore methods/dfu methods, nothing happens, it just boots up as if id just pressed the power button on its own normally. I also called my local apple store today but they wont touch it even though I have a reciept (to prove i didnt steal it or anything!) Im a desperate man now!
