ipod touch+VNC= remote desktop to a windows machine?
I've been reading, and notcied that you can remote desktop into a mac using vnc. would i be able to do the same for a windows box using VNC(tightvnc/realvnc/ultravnc) or am i missing another protocol that allows me to do that?

Thx Ender!
I think the only reason I want one is to be able to access my home computer at any given time, for emails and stuff. oh and to flex my nerd muscles.

VNC can be used for Window as well as MAC. Additionally, logmeinrescue, gosupportnow, GoToMyPC etc. can also be used to remotely access computers. On premise RHUB or Bomgar appliances is also a viable choice in order to remotely access MAC or Windows computers.

There is no need to install VNC to remotely control a Windows machine. Enable Remote Desktop and use one of the RDP apps. For Windows Vista and newer, it's notably more secure than VNC from an encryption standpoint, and since it's built in to Windows, you don't need to download and install another server to make it work.
I don't recommend you run it on the standard port (3389), as you will likely see a large amount of failed authentication attempts if the port is forwarded from your router. Pick a non-standard port and make sure your machine doesn't use the standard 'Administrator' account for administration (rename your Admin account, good practice) and save yourself the VNC hassle.
