Update: I tried iphuc with the ipod in dfu mode and this is what I get (see attachment).

The message asks how I got it into dfu mode and to report. I did this by following the iphone instructions to downgrade the ipod touch.

Edit: for some reason I can't upload the image. I keep getting an error.

The message is in a dos window (using Win XP) and it says:

"Detected a DFU connection. How did you do this? Please report"

It then says "CFRunLoop: Waiting for iphone"

    Nothing else happens.

I'm sorry for being unclear, I successfully downgraded my ipod touch firmware from 3A110a to 3a101a (the original firmware that was on the device when I bought it. I have not downgraded to the iphone firmware, all my attempts have been unsuccessful.

My only question with this is that, what is the point? Both firmwares are encrypted!

True but at least we do know that it will work in case we need it for any reason.

    Still doesn't make any sense.

Btw: I bought my daughter an iPod Touch today and I really like it a lot.
The WiFi iTunes Shop works better (and faster) than I could have imagined, very nice feature indeed. Running third party applications would be nice but personally I care more for my iPhone. Good work, guys.
