OTB ipod which restored to 1.1.3 now i'm trying to downgrade but to 1.1.1 and it will not do it.

I hold down shift and select 1.1.1 firmware it starts to do it and then comes up with the error msg - The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1).

Any ideas ?

You need to Put in DFU mode..
OMG!.. another person with this error... Need to use seach engine in forum...


Hold the Power and Home button together ... wait 10 seconds.. release the power and wait more 10~15 seconds with the home power... your iTunes will reconize and Recovery Mode Ipod.
Press restore. (Confirm your ISPF is for iPod and not for iPhone!)


The iPod will not appear anything in screen while putting in DFU mode, its normally! But wait Itunes reconize....

use ibrickr to put in DFU

Even easier than that is to simpley download the Autodown program from the link below. All you have to do then is kill iTunes, and Ituneshelper then run autodown and it will let you downgrade with no problems.

and i m getting this while being in DFU mode so so one help this is really fustrating ..

ur not in DFU mode is the screen all black or white!

ok nvm i think i got it .. thanks for the help anyways..
