my home button caved in and requires lotsa force to push in and go to home menu or anything
any ideas on how to fix?

If it's still under warranty take it back to the apple store I took mine back yesterday because of a hard to push home button and no ? asked they replaced it. Mine was jailbroke all I did is restored it before I took it in.
