Thats cause apart from the larger capacity drive, the iphone is the superior device, both feature-wise and quality-wise.

The ipod touch is pretty good, but unfortunately apple had to neuter it a bit too much in order not to compete with the Iphone (which is a shame to be honest....no reason NOT to have stuff like google maps on the bloody thing....).

that's it i gave in and sold the touch and got the 8g iphone does anyone have it unlocked for tmobile and if so what features dont work and do you think theyll catch on and lock it back so well be stuck useing att

i absolutely love mine. got rid of my iPhone for it. Too late, Apple - I need Push Mail, suckas.

The iPod touch is simply fantastic for us who live far away from GSM coverage, and dont like importing stuff. The only thing I miss from the iPhone (except the software) is the camera (not really) and the speaker (for alarms).

Personally I hate the ipod touch because:
1. It makes my iPhone less exclusive (not mentioning the $200 price drop)
2. Truthfully the icons look terrible.
3. Too many features for an iPod...
4. Why have an advanced interface... It would look better with something simpler.

The rest of the reasons basically HOW it makes it less exclusive! nice! and how could 2x the capacity make it less appealing?
Personally I have both and the iPhone's collected some dust. 3G me with push mail and then we'll talk, AAPL.

the timing of these devices hitting the shelves is key. they know what they're doing, so our posts and opinions are very much influenced by that.
had the iPhone come out after the touch, this would be a completely different discussion.

I absolutely love mine. Instead of carrying around my MacBook I can just take my iPod touch now wherever I go. It is like carrying a portable computer or PDA. I can get my GMail and listen to my music.

I couldn't have asked for something better. It works fast and is slim for my pocket!!!

Can't wait for the killer applications to be ported to it!!!!

Let me just put it this way, If you gave me a choice between just an iphone, and a Nokia N95 plus iPod Touch, I would almost definitely choose the N95 and touch package.

Of course, I bought my iPhone long before the touch was out. That, and the combined price of an N95 and Touch would be $1150, enough to buy three iphones almost.

Actually, it occurs to me that I would gadly turn in my iPhone for an N95 at this point, seeing apples stance on all this crap.

mostly gets a lot of hate because its storage and size are so much better than the iPhone. And once its hacked it will have all the best things about the iPhone (lets face it the phone part is the most boring thing about the iPhone and EDGE is useless outside of America) and the iPhone crowd are boohooing because you can enjoy the good stuff sans contracts
