Default Cannot get Touch into DFU or Recovery

    Hello all,

I know this topic is ALL over the net. I have researched and researched and researched, but to no avail so far. I have tried everything suggested that I can find and have come up empty handed so far. I dont beleive the problem is what I am doing wrong (however, I am humble and realize I know NOTHING) I have put Ipod's into DFU and Recovery many times, so I know for the most part how to do it, but the one I am currently working on just wont do it. Here is what I have so far:

First off, this device is disabled (big red lettering at top saying disabled) because the owner has entered the wrong passcode too many times. Simple enough, just enter DFU or recovery, and restore.

When you hold down the sleep/wake and the home button, the slide to power off appears, but the device will never turn off, I have held the buttons for 30 seconds or more, and it just doesnt power off. So I have continued to hold the buttons, while sliding the power off at the same time, counted my 10, released the sleep/wake, comes up to apple, and then finally to disabled screen.

I have opened Itunes, disconnected the ipod, turned the device off, held down the home button, and plugged in the device. It powers up, and goes to the disabled screen, never going to Recovery.

So then since the normal procedures seem to fail every time, I decided to pull out the big guns. I fired up Iliberty, and forced DFU mode. No dice, it just times out every time. I tried ZiPhone, but with same results, neither of those programs will force it into DFU or Recovery mode. I also tried the DFU.exe programs found on some forums, and get a cant pair with iphone error. (wondering if this is possibly a wrong ibss file?)

I dont think this is a USB problem since Itunes starts the device everytime, however, I have tried front and reat USB ports, 1.1, 2.0, and other PC usb ports, same results.

Anyone have ANY other ideas? Possibly a hardware short of some sort, that will force a loss of all data, but then be able to get into DFU or Recovery? Another program to try, or a different file for DFU.exe?

This is a 1st gen 8g Ipod Touch by the way. Please please please, any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!

Let it go flat, completely flat and then plug it into power and then try again as soon as it starts up.
