Can you install iphone apps on an itouch?

I just got a GPS module for my itouch, the iGPS360. There are some great GPS enabled apps that I would like to use but most of them are restricted for use only with iPhones. Is there any way to have my itouch "spoof" an iPhone so that I can install these apps?

you can install iphone apps on touch, but you need 1.1.x.

if you do, go to cydia/ installer and add source applerepo.com.

im sure you can find the package yourself

I'm assuming you're talking about the firmware version. Yes, I did see these articles from 2007 and I'm not really sure I'm ready to try this just yet.

I guess that my problem is not really that common as no one has bothered to figure out how to do it over the last 2 years.

Does anyone know if it's possible to downgrade the firmware back to 1.1.x, do the iPhone app install and then re-install v.3 without screwing anything up?

There was an app called xGPS which you could install via Cydia which was for the Touch using a iGPS360 module.

Is the iGPS360 module available in the UK.

Ya, xGPS is a great program, I use it all the time. But many really cool GPS apps can only be installed on iPhones which is the problem. I'm hoping that the 3G Touch will have built in GPS which might open that restriction.
