Same thing happened to me, i ended up getting a new iPod from apple because even though it was Jailbroken because i sshed into it and removed all traces of the Jailbreak. But you can charge it using a firewire cable but cannot sync. Hope this helps ~Jeff
hey jeffy can you help me?
Well I JailBroke my Girlfriend's 8G Touch, it was working fine til she let her nutty lil
brother borrow it. Now when its connected to any charger it shows the battery
symbol(as if it's trying to charge) and under it has the small lighting bolt, but it
donest charge @ all. We both noticed alil discoloration on the screen that might be water damage but i cant get the damn touch to even restore........let me see
how many ppl can figure this 1 out
check ur USB cord, that's all i can really think of
Take it to your local electronics shop and see if you can try charging it with a mains iPod charger. They have slightly more power as it is from the mains.
Phone: iPhone 4S 32GB iOS 5.1.1 Jailbroken
Mac: MacBook Pro 15" Core i5 @ 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 10.7.4

I had the same exact symptoms yesterday with my iphone (8GB g2 version). No matter how long I charged it, it never moved off red. I tried different cables, computers, wall outlets, everything I could think of.
Then I decided to reboot it and voila! its back to normal. So you might just try rebooting your touch.
just take it to apple
