Hi, i have an ipod touch here, but it has the grey wifi problem. Im not sure how this came about as it is a mates, but i know alot about iphones/touchs so he gave it to me to fix. I cannot seem to flash the baseband at all, and this is the problem, it currently has no baseband.

Please can you help if you know any little tricks that may help me, i will try to be more specific later once i try a few more things as i cant remember what i have tried now.

iTouch has no Bootloader neither Baseband.

Restore it to 1.1.4 and use PwnageTool or iLiberty to jailbreak it.

You sure it has no baseband? Doesn't it need a baseband for the wifi?

Install HWinfo and you'll see for yourself

Also don't waste your time with swifi, it is designed for iPhone and doesn't fix grey wifi on iTouch.

Well i installed bbinfo and its says baseband not found. I have tried restores through all different modes with no luck though, so im guessing there is a hardware problem.

Because i forgot what i have tried before, i did a DFU restore from 1.1.4 to 1.1.2. Then there was still the grey wifi problem so i have restored in itunes to 1.1.4 again and the grey wifi problem is still there. Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

If a restore doesn't solve the problem, you're good to return the touch to Apple (hopping it's still covered by the warranty).

Okay, thanks i suppose it should be pretty easy for a touch as you dont have to activate to have access to the features unlike with iphones, so i can just take it to them say i upgraded to 1.1.4 and now i have no wifi, and they will reapir or replace it for me.
