I have a fresh otb Ipod Touch 1.1.4 not yet jail broken or modified in anyway

please help

i am having the damnedest time getting wifi to work on my Ipod touch

I have entered the wep password from my router, and wifi says connected, but when i try to access safari or Google maps it says cannot connect or server not found. i get an ip address but it don't match whats coming off my router for the other wireless adapters im using

I am a NOOB when it comes to this anyone out there have any tips on getting this working

What is your Router IP address (the one for the local network) ?
What is your iTouch IP address ?

Should be something like 192.168.x.x or 10.0.1.x

If your iTouch IP starts with 169.x.x.x, the router's DHCP didn't give it a lease.

if your iTouch IP doesn't start with 169.x.x.x, but the same node as the Router you can try to replace the DNS of your iTouch's WiFi connection with this:

208.67.222.222

at the risk of sounding dumb, do you mean the ip address of my main computer?
