I don't know why my WIFI is not working

It does not load any of the local networks.
The wheel keeps spinning.

I don't know if this is a iPhone 3.0 OS problem
or if I should uninstall any software.

What should I do?

It's not a 3.0 problem. I have WiFi works fine. See if you don't have any app in conflict with the WiFi.

Well i just restored my phone with my custom firmware.
Before I ran Cydia it was able to recognize my wireless just fine.
After running and installing everything (Upgrade Complete) it hangs when I go to choose a network and I have not installed any other software

Did you install Cydia with Icy or just Cydia alone?

Restore to Apple stock firmware 3.0, then use Redsn0w. Only choose Cydia. When done, connect to iTunes and do not choose "restore data from a backup", instead "setup as a new iPhone".
Check if WiFi is running fine. If so, some of the stuff you had loaded before is the reason...

I'm having the same problem, if I restore as a new iPhone....is there another way to get all of my SMS messages back?

I do the essential upgrades and it says it's fine.
But when I install libxml2 Library
OpenSSL
SQLite 3.x Library
My Wifi no longer works

I have an account with ATT so I don't want to set it up as a new phone
When i restore from my previous backup the phone still works fine.
It is only after I install the above that it stops working.

There are known problems, and documented, with the restore from a previous bkp. Apple doesn't bother to check for compatibility with jailbraked iPhones.
You should set as new. If you know your way around SSH you won't loose nothing.

One more thing, you should not install Cydia and Icy all together. Do a new custom IPSW (you don't need because you can upgrade to OS 3.0, but if you want then do it) that doesn't include Icy.

Ok...i set mine up as a new iphone instead of restoring and then my wifi worked again. However, when i tried to jailbreak my iphone again with Redsn0w, then the wifi quit working like before.....what in redsn0w might be causing this?
