    Default Wifi not working

I have bought an Iphone 2G from a colleague of mine and have 3.0 OS installed. The wifi is not working. It works only if it is kept besides the router.
Bluetooth is also not working. Also when i try to connect to youtube it says "cannot connect to Youtube".

I have the following MAC Addresses on WIFI & BT:

    WIFI: 00:1F:F3:99:A5:0D

    BT: 00:1F:F3:99:A5:0C

    BASEBAND: 04.05.04_G

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS......
I need to figure out if this one is a hardware or a software issue....

The youtube problem is not related to your other problems.

Could be hardware if it works with close proximity to the wifi AP

I also tried running irecovery and the details shown on that are:

Should i try downgrading to 2.2.1 and then to 1.1.4??
I have read about lot of users having this wifi issue and few of them got it resolved by downgrading

There are different underlying causes for wifi problems

For weak or inconsistent reception it is likely either:
    Antenna disconnected or broken
    Faulty wifi hardware
Incompatibility between base station firmware/configuration and iOS

    Unlikely it is:
Baseband corruption - normally associated with blacksn0w and reset network settings
Corrupted calibration tables - symptom - greyed out wifi
