What AT&T plans can I purchase for 2g?
I was thinking unlimited data only. How much is that? How do I get it? Can it be prepaid goPhone?
If AT&T is not an option what would you recommend?
Does jail breaking void warranty?

Does jail breaking void warranty?
1) You can technically get an unlimited data-only plan from at&t as the PDA/Smartphone plan ($35/month+taxes). However, that requires a credit check and/or contract. GoPhone options are the following: $20/100MBs or $5/1MB. There is also a newly-offered plan that is aimed towards netbook users that offers 75MB/1day/$15, 250MB/1week/$30, 500MB/month/$50 (however, I'm not 100% sure if this will work on the iPhone...).
2) There's also T-Mobile, who has similar plans postpaid (require credit check and/or contract) for PDAs, or their FlexPay plans with data can start around $40/month+taxes.
*Note: All of the above will require you to jailbreak and/or unlock to use on a 2G.
3) Technically, yes jailbreaking will void a warranty... however:
a) if you have a 2G, it's warranty might have expired already or will be expiring soon... so it's almost a non-issue.
b) if you restore to a non-jailbroken firmware, you'll be able to workaround this issue.

So basically I can jailbreak my 3.0 firmware, and to get my warranty back I will have to restore it back to regular 3.0 firmware?
