update from 2.2.1 to 3.0 and iphone stuck in recovery mode
A week ago I wanted to upgrade OS on my 3G iphone. I did it clasic way via iTunes, everything went smooth but iphone rebooted with screen "connect to itunes", whileas ituces detected iphone in recovery mode. I thought well sth went wrong hence I hit retore button and 3.0 installation done again. Iphone restarted again only up to "connect to itunes screen"
I started googling, looking for similar problems and solutions. I have already tried:
1. instalin in DFU
2. reinstalling itunes and all apple stuff on my vista pc
3. doing everything on fresh new user account in vista
4. doing on laptop with vindows xp, always the same result...
....... connect to itunes
Finally i decided to downgrade to 2.2.1; did it but iphone restarted with conenct to itunes. I decided to play around wirh quickpwn that advised me to hold power and home for 15 sec and then power for 2 sec. After a few attempts iphone alive! I activated, phoned to some people, decided to restart phone to see if everything OK. Phone restarted with connect to itunes screen
Again i lunched quickpwn 2.2.1 and started repeating 15sec _+ 2 sec. one time it boot up correctly; I made jailbreak on 2.2.1. Phone works perfectly, can restart, no issue.
Tried again to upgrade to 3.0; again finished with connect to itunes screen.
WTF can be the problem?
I am loosing hope to use on my iphone 3.0 soft one day|!!11 help
Sorry for double postinng. Kindly ask admin to delete my post in iphone 2G section; I do have iphone 3G hence this section is OK

Vista does sometimes cause problems.
Put your phone in DFU mode and try restoring on your XP laptop.

I updated to 3.0 before jail breaking and it has been trouble free. Maybe you should do a restore then upgrade and then jail break. I used redsnow for my JB. Good luck
