Unlock after upgrade to OS 3.0 ?!

Hello,
I'm newby here.
I bought Iphone 2G on ebay.
It was unlock in OS 2.2.1 (I don't know how...)

I have done a mistake : I have done the upgrade to OS 3.0 !

Now the Iphone is deactivated and locked back on AT&T.
--> Itunes doesn't let me do the restore.
--> Itunes says "Activation not possible. SIM card not compatible. blabla..."

How can I unlock it now that Itunes doesn't let me downgrade to OS 2.x..
I was about to use redsn0w but I can not perform first step (restore) in Itunes.

If anyone can help, it would be very great !

PS : I can not use AT&T SIM card because we don't have them in Europe ;=(

use redsnow to jailbreak+hactivate+unlock

Indeed, it's ok to skip step two in the tutorial for redsn0w, if the iphone is already in OS 3.0.

Problem solved.

I finded out the recovery mode. (it is in the tutorial in redsn0w by the way too Step N. 10- same as entering DFU mode)
Software works perfectly.

to bperlman: Hard not to be robbed on internet. Till there will be www like these it stays at least a bit original...

Does it bother anyone else that this company advertised all over the place by google is selling the links to redsn0w and calling it their own software??? They are charging 30 bucks for the software and instructions put forth by these kind people who do it for free!!!! ...And then have the nerve to advertise it as "their own revolutionary iphone unlocking" software!!!! This disgusts me!!!!!
