My phone has suffered from a dead strip on bottom touch pad. Ever since 2.0, I have been able to apply the following patches to fix it: iPhone Touchscreen Fix: Increase Sensitivity

Is there any possibility I will be able to reupload these patches once 3.0 is jailbroken? I currently have 3.0 on my 2G, however its somewhat useless without the bottom strip.

anyone solve this with an app to move icons or exclude the lower part of the touch screen etc?

Same thing happened to me a while ago but increasing the sensitivity didnt help. I got a free replacement at the Apple Store just a few weeks ago.
