Stuck at pineapple Logo after master reset
Hi Guys. I just was too fast with my fingers on the touchpad. I tried to master reset my iphone because I got a new one and wanted to give this one to my sister.
After I did the Master Reset (delete all contant and settings) my phone is now stuck at the pineapple logo (jailbroken with pwned tool at 3.1.2).
I tried the DFU Mode and got it recognized by iTunes. Started the Recovery of the alternative FW file and got an error. Now I can't even get into DFU Mode. Can anybody help?
Thanks

Try again with DFU mode but use an original unmodified apple IPSW. Then jailbreak with blackra1n and after that reload the "alternative"/custom IPSW created with pwnagetool.
This should clear up any confusion/mess left over from the old jailbreak and the erase all content and settings.
Your unlock should survive this whole process.
As long as your home and sleep/power button work you should be able to get into DFU mode. It is a hardware mode so it is impossible to break it without physically damaging either the logic board or the two buttons.

Ok. So let me update, so I don't get anything wrong now, because I needed like 2 hours to get into dfu/recovery again:
1. Iphone is plugged in my Mac
2. Running iTunes 8.2.1 on 10.5.8
3. iTunes recognized it
4. Should I now Restore it just by clicking on the "restore" button (Let iTunes get the fw and install it)
5. Is that going to install a new bootloader which I cannot overcome?
Due to the fact that my sister is a n00b I would't want her to have a tethered jailbreak with blackra1n.
Thanks for the support....

I have it now on blackrain.
Installed Cydia and openSSH.
Should I try to recover again from the custom IPSW with iTunes?
I think I am going to leave it with blackra1n. It works fine right now.
Thanks everyone. Big thanks to Olethros!

If you can't activate the iPhone legitimately via iTunes then I highly recommend the custom ipsw (especially if you can make the custom ipsw yourself)
The improved hacktivation and extra steps taken in the pwnagetool give an overall better jailbreak.
It is of course up to you.

Well I dont really have a problem with the custom ipsw. Before this mess I had the custom on it. Is blackra1n not that good? seems perfect on the 2g. With my 3gs I have the bug at restart that I have to let blackra1n run over it. But the 2G works just fine. but I wasnt really able to test it.
so you would prefer the custom ispw from pwned tool over blackra1n?

Blackra1n is a barebones jailbreak that has problems. Especially if you can't activate your iPhone legitimately through iTunes.
You need to use blackra1n if you have a 3GS with the new bootrom. Otherwise I recommend PwnageTool.
