SSH not Working - Error: 'Network Error: Connection Timed Out'
Hi ALL,
PLEASE help me! I am fairly new to all this. I have searched a lot online and have not been able to find an answer. I cannot get my PC (Vista) to connect via SSH to my 3G iPhone (jailbroken via blackra1n). I have tried using WinSCP and puTTy. I have never been successful. I keep getting a blank screen and then the above error message. It will keep retrying to connect but I never have any luck. I have used the IP address that is listed in my iPhone and I use root and alpine as my username and login respectively. My PC and phone are on the same wireless connection. I have 'open SSH' installed from Cydia, as well as 'toggle SSH' and 'automatic SSH'. I feel like the solution is just a simple issue but I cannot figure it out. I have read online that a lot of people have this problem, but are able to solve it! I need some closure, please help! Thank you very much.
Thank you for any help that you can give,

make sure your iphone's auto lock is set to never when you ssh , not much but might help (and this is kinda obvious but make sure your iphone is not in sleep mode when trying to connect )
and if you just want to be transferring files and stuff just use Diskaid(google it )
iphone 2g at 3.0 using unofficial sim
changed commboard at 1.1.4

Problem solved!!! Yay!
Hey everyone,
I solved my problem below... The wireless network that I have at home is secure (password protected). I disabled the password setting on my wireless router and made it unsecured. I had no problems SSHing after that. I hope this helps someone out there. Thanks...
