I got push notifications working on my hacktivated 3.0 only without my T-Mobile SIM card inserted.
Once I inserted this SIM card in my phone, I stopped receiving them.
The thing that you are missing here is that PUSHMAIL works fine under Hactivated iPhones. It is the PUSH NOTIFICATION that doesn't work.

Do you think we should put this tutorial only sticky in iPhone/General?
I see the question poppoing up in many threads.

I vote yes for this Volkspost.
We need to create a new thread with only Aviegas tutorial and your link to Dev Team Push fix .
Then we sticky it
This current thread 20 pages long and can be cumbersome for people to follow.

So I'd have to borrow, restore, jailbreak, and then copy the certs from it?
Sounds like an awful lot to explain to someone. "Hey let me restart your phone from scratch so I can get push notifications!
"
I'd love to just do it the lazy way and ask someone here for a fresh bundle of certs... I don't have anything too fancy but I can offer a Google Wave invite; I have seven left on my dev account.
If anyone is interested please PM me. I'll start looking around for someone with an iPod Touch just in case.

Ah, my bad. Neither of these worked when I had mine unlocked/had T-Mobile's SIM card in.

It's the same for any iPhone.
Only iTunes activated iPhones / iTouch will not need it.
If you have a hacktivated iPhone, then the *only* way to get push notification is to make the "certificate transplant" and keep then *unique*.
I have done this on several iPhones so far, all models and all work without a problem.

Aviegas,
I copied your tutorial and make a separate thread / sticky in the iPhone/General section and also in the Genius Bar/How To/Tutorial section.
Thanks
