It ought to! I haven't had anymore problems with it in a while, even over WiFi. Sometimes it seemed to work only over Edge given that you have two IPs when using WiFi and/or Edge, but oh well! At least it works!

Still nothing. have set all the permissions to 0775 and ran all the commands from mobile-terminal and I still get the "connect to itunes" message when I launch any app that has push turned on... very frustrating.
I have 3.0 installed on my ipod touch 2nd Gen. I copied nimble to the /private/var/Keychains directory used MT to change permissions to 0775 (even tried 0755) for nimble. Ran ./nimble in the directory to create the .bin files. copied them to my iPhone 2G running 3.1 in the same directory. Changed the permissions on the bin files to 0775 and inject to 0775. deleted the db file and immediately ran the ./inject command to create the new db file. I have tried different stages of reboots and such but each time I run the push app, "connect to itunes" message!
Does anyone see what I am doing wrong? I appreciate CorranQ's direct help!

Hmm, okay, odd questions I forgot to ask before: do you have an active data plan on your iPhone? What are you using to activate and jailbreak your iPhone? And have you set up your iPhone fully before pursuing the push hack?

I am using a all-you-can eat data plan with a non-AT&T cell provider (I am in US) it is EDGE. I had been running my phone from a Pwnge custom IPSW 3.1) for a few weeks. I had messed around with the different hacks to get push to work. I finally went back to 3.01 using Redsnow 0.8 and did the push hack and it works. But now I can't restore my phone data...

Errr, why can't you restore your phone data?

Ok let me see if I got this right: iTunes isn't letting you restore your iPhone as it is right now, to a back-up of all your data/apps/set-up? Or iTunes isn't letting you back-up your iPhone so you can perform a restore after and reload that back-up to it after you restore? Or you're unable to restore to factory settings, period?

Sorry for the confusion... I am trying to do this while inbetween tasks at work.
I backed up my 3.1 with iTunes.
I used redsnow .8 to jb/unlock back to 3.01
did the push fix with my own certs and installed a push app. IT WORKS! but now iTunes won't let me restore to a backup of the apps/data/info that I just made this morning.

Ahh yeah.... that's happening because as far as I know the back-ups are not backwards firmware compatible. You would have to update the phone to 3.1 or 3.1.2 to be able to get your back-up restored on your iPhone.
PwnageTool was just updated for 3.1.2 and you should be able to get the certs working on it as you did with 3.01, but if not, it sounds like the alternative you're left with is to set up your iPhone as it is now so that you could subsequently update it with future pwned firmwares that would maintain your certs. I'm honestly a bit confused as to why the certs won't work for you on the fully updated 3.1 or 3.1.2 version.

I think it is because I had been trying just about every trick I could find to get push to work and had never done a clean restore. I am going to update to 3.1.2 and add the push certs before I restore my data to see if I can get it to work.
Thanks again for ALL you help.
