[Problem][3.0] Cannot pair my iPhone with MacBook Unibody for tethering
Hi,
I have a strange problem. I successfully enabled tethering for my officially unlocked iPhone 3G. But I could never get it to pair it with my new MacBook unibody (Jan '09).
First I thought it was an iPhone problem, but paring and tethering worked great with my friend's older MacBook Pro.
So, I figured it must be the MacBook's problem, BUT I successfully paired other mobile devices with it.
I'm very desperate now as I don't know what's going wrong.
BTY, the whole problem is when I run the setup wizard I can't seem to get pass the step where the pass-code is shown on my Mac's screen. It sends the correct code to my iPhone and I accept (it doesn't prompt me to manually punch in the code) NOTHING happens after that. I just get a "failed to pair" message
Could anyone please tell me what's going on ??!!! has any one with a new MacBook been able to pair with their iPhone ??
Thanks in advance.

I've read in another forum that more people witnessed this. I've also successfully tethered an older (white) MacBook, but had no luck with my MacBook Air (rev. 1). Seems like it does not work with the new Bluetooth chips.

Same for me; MB Unibody 2.0ghz. Didn't worked in Mac Os. it's not a chip problem, since it worked in Boot Camp.

It seems to be a problem associated with new Unibody Mac's and the newer Mac Air. I personally ended up using USB tethering instead.

I was having the same pairing issues (MBP - late 2008) - i was successful getting it paired with BluePhoneElite.... but, when trying to open a network connection i get the dreaded "Too many connections" error. Hmmm.

Same issue
Late 2008 Unibody Macbook. Can only get USB tethering to work. Thought perhaps beta2 would address this, no luck.
I was able to successfully use bluetooth on IBM PC...sad really

what if you put a USB hub in between ??

Still exists in beta 4. I can't connect with my unibody MacBook Pro, but it connects fine with a friend's old PowerBook G4.

Could it be that Apple says that you shouldn't use tethering at this point, and that the only way to enable it in the first place is a hack?
