Would restoring turn back on my ringtones??

Hi. I have 2G iphone with OS3.0
I dropped it recently and the silent switch broke
while my iphone was in silent mode.
Alas, my iphone will never ring again when call comes.
Now i was wondering, would restoring tthe iphone
back to factory setting wil turn back on my ringtones??
I don't wanna go through all the trouble of jailbreaking and stuff again
to find out it doesn't work

Restoring would only reset software settings so If the switch is broken in the silent position then I wouldn't think a restoring will work.
