Alright guys i need some help..
My uncle who had his iphone for a year (first gen) had it unlocked...he gave it to me yesterday and i didn't know it was unlocked so i plugged it into itunes updated and bam...im locked out of my iphone until i activate the phone through att.
I just used Blackra1n and got back into the phone except now it says NO SERVICe..i cant make calls, txts, recieve, etc....
Wifi is there and all but thats the only problem.

The unlock for OS 2.x and OS 3.x is called bootneuter and is integrated into pwnagetool and redsn0w.
You can also install and run bootneuter from an iPhone jailbroken with blackra1n. This is not automated so there is room for human error.

dfu restore to 3.1 again and use redsn0w, if youre on a mac download pwnagetool and use this Tutorial to jailbreak and unlock your phone
Redsn0w will not jailbreak OS 3.1 you need to use blackra1n instead. Or as you say on a mac you can simply use pwnagetool.Quote:

Yesterday I had an iphone with (i guess) 1.1.3 (on the box it sais MB384LL/A)
I asked a friend for some sites and stuff because he modded his touch.
He gave me the link to blackra1n, I did some stuff and ended up with the connect-cable-to-itunes-screen, instead of the blackra1n thing, and I didn't know u could just reboot it, so I thought it would be bricked if I didn't restore it with Itunes, so I restored it, and I had the unjailbreaked version of 3.1.2(7d11), and then I couldn't do anything, then I tried to jailbreake it again, and then it worked.
But now I have the unjailbreaked version of 3.1.2 and can use all the functions except youtube for some reason, and I also have no signal.
I tried to downgrade it back to 1.1.4 (don't know if it makes a lot of difference with 1.1.3) so that I can call again, but I got "the iphone could not be restored an unknown error occurred 20".
Is this because it's jailbreaked or???
Any help on getting back my calling functionality would be welcome ^^

Put your iPhone into DFU mode, http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/54082.htm restore OS 3.0 not 3.1.2 and follow this guide.Quote:

Try not to use blackra1n it is a very bare-bones jailbreak and it's not the best choice for 2G iPhones that need to be unlocked.
