Need Help, New to Iphone Hacking.

Hey everyone, thanks for taking a look at my thread!

So, i have an iPhone3g from AT&T. the contract is over ( i think we canceled it, yeah, stupid, but it was getting too expensive. ) and now i am with a new carrier.

Now i have a few questions on how to Jailbreak & Unlock my iPhone.
The Firmware it has is 3.1.3.
The Baseband is 05.12.01.
Bootloader 6.4.
Model MB702.

What would i have to do to Jailbreak and then Unlock the phone?
Would i first have to Downgrade it? if so, how?

Jailbreak is possible (redsn0w 0.9.2 or pwnagetool 3.1.5)
Unlock is impossible right now.
