Iphone 3g no wifi

Hi Guys

I have a white iphone 3g bought from america. It is locked to at&t but has the wifi issue were it wernt find any networks

I tried downgrading the os but the baseband stays the same and due to the no internet i cant unlock the phone.

So is there a way i can atleast unlock the phone without wifi?

try resetting the network settings in settings - general - and whatever else that was after and choose to reset network settings and hopefully that helps. good luck

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Wifi became unstable and wouldn't connect to anything. I restarted my iphone and now its greyed out. Seems like a hardware problem to me. If restoring doesn't help then it just might be. I will have to get mine replaced soon.

What program did you use to jb?

Ive tried reseting it and all , Its a 3g iphone 16gb so i jailbroke it using quickpwn and a custom ispw i found of the internet , could this be the issue?

Thanks ill give it a go but the thing is my phone is locked to at&t in america and i have an aus sim

I that program and used it to install cydia and ultra and yellowsn0w but when i press it on cydia it says cant download file and then my network switches to searching for signal whilst my phone does detect its an australian sim card

I'm having the same problem.

I bought an iphone 3g at a pawn shop, accidentally upgraded to 3.1, and let it sit on the coffee table until 3.1.2....now that it's out, I was able to get past the 'invalid sim' screen using blackra1n to jailbreak.

So, next step, unlock, right? Well, I have no wifi. It isn't greyed out, but cannot find any networks when my functional iphone can. Even when I put in our home network name/pw, it still doesn't work.

I've tried resetting network settings, turning on/off airplane mode, restoring the phone, etc....and nothing works. My phone does show that it has a WiFi address in the 'about' section.

I just want to unlock the darn phone, but it obviously won't happen without wifi to use blacksn0w. I do not have an ATT sim. I'm on tmobile.

(Edit: I'm using Windows and the phone is on the newest firmware and baseband.)
