iPhone 2g running 3.0 problem! so slow

hi guys i recently upgraded my iPhone 2g to 3.0 but my problem right now is that what i notice is that all my games that use to run smoothly on 2.2.1 are now running slower? do you think this is a bug or maybe hardware issues, ? anyone encounter the same problem after installing/upgrading to 3.0 firmware needhelp...thingking of going downgrade sooneer..

I am having the same problem. Looks like it is time for the 3GS unless someone has a work around.

Hi icurry i found the solution to the problem, just uninstall yellow snow on your cydia and you set to go for that speed blazing iphone. give me feedback once done.

Thanks anyway. Yellow Snow is not installed, I assume it is because I used Pwnage Tool when I upgraded to 3.0.

That's because Yellowsn0w is for 3G and firmware 2.2.x only. For 2G you just need to run PwnageTool or RedSn0w. That will unlock the baseband.

For 3G and firmware 3.0 you need ultrasn0w.

Well its time to turn some stuff OFF...

go through the phone and turn OFF things you do not use....

ie: Wifi when not in use turn it OFF
Data Roaming ...when not in use Turn it OFF
Auto lock set to...... never
Location services turn OFF
Bluetooth ...when not in use turn it OFF
Mail, Contacts, Calendars..fetch new data...when not in use turn it OFF

these are just a few items...look around your phone you can find more...

theres an app for that, "memstatus" will help you cleaning the ram of your iphone, then you can run things in high speed. when its clean i notice its faster.

I think it's called MEMORY STATUS...on iTunes App store...cost .99 cents.

Winterboard is one of the problems. I disabled the Themes and shut down, then restarted after a few minutes. The battery life is better and the time to open and closed has improved dramatically. Hope this helps.
