Experiencing Keyboard Problems (3.0 updated to 3.0.1)

today i tried to text back my buddy but i was not able to access my pop up keyboard by pressing down on the empty space in where you usually press on next to the mms button and the send button...

im thinking it is a bug, but can someone explain to me why this is happening to my phone?

like i said, it just happened a couple of hours ago, and it sucks that i have to
go to landscape mode, pop up the keyboard, then go back to vertical mode and begin typing.

what could be wrong with my phone? any ideas?

I am on 3.0.1 and no such problem..

reboot phone and try.

i have already tried that multiple times. im not sure what could be the problem. like i said, i went to work today, and during work i tried to text someone back, but i wasnt able to pull up the keyboard. weird, huh?...i mean, dont you think since i updated the software to 3.0.1 i would be able to fix that problem? the thing is that it didnt fix it.....

roll back to 3.0 as baseband is same there should not be any problem

I have already rolled back two times from both firmwares but still cannot press the space bar nor the symbols button. I've been doing this for the past 2 hours. Trial and error...nothing seems to fix it. I know it's not my digitizer glass because I can press on the same location in where the space bar is to enter my phone and click on"recents"(near the middle of the bottom of the screen).
Also when in safari I try to do the same thing when typing in vertical mode and it doesn't let me press the space bar nor the symbols buttons.

Try to do a clean restore to 3.0.1

Landscape mood is good, as long it works stick with it. Did you ever install any apps regarding keyboard? Could there be any conflict? Cause it happened to one of my friends once.

not that im aware of. the last time i did that was on the 2.X.X software, because i was able to modify my keyboard without having to ssh (pure cydia). since the 3.0 software, my keyboard wouldn't modify to what i wanted it with cydia. am i able to modify the keyboard in this 3.0.1 software by ssh?
