Overclocking 3g
Ok, I know there have been a few threads in the past about overclocking the iPhone, all of which have been about modifying the 'com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults' file, which has failed, and to save bumping an old thread I thought I'd make a new one.
I have extracted 018-6028-014.dmg from the 3.1.2 firmware and decrypted the image so it can be modified, there is 544 plists within there none of which seem to reference the CPU speed (well from a quick scan).
Apple has bumped it up from 400 to 412, so do any of you guys have an idea of which which file would need to be modified in order to over clock the iphone as it should be somewhere within the image.
Quite willing to test a custom ispw with the upped speed if someone can point me in the right direction.

you will need full access to iboot as i know.. if you have a twitter account ask about it to chpwn.. i asked before if we can overclock the device by iboot.. he said yes, but he thinks that it is worthless...
he doesn't think that device will be much fast.. so he refused to manage a bspatch for iboot..

He is right, it is not just about the device being faster, also that Apple has designed entire iPhone for a specific thermal profile. You risk damaging (or shortening the life) of the other iPhone components by overclocking the CPU.
It is not the same as on a desktop machine where you can use cooling techniques to counter the increase in temperature.
