Hi All,

I've got a iPhone (model A1203, version 1.1.4) which I originally unlocked and jailbreaked using ZiPhone and things worked well until couple of days ago when I updated the software to 3.1.2 in iTunes. After that my phone is locked and I'm not able to get it unlocked using quite a few tools(ZiPhone, iPlus, Independence, etc.). And then I restored factory settings in DFU mode and tried with these tools again but nothing worked so far.

Would really appreciate if I can get some pointer to get my phone unlocked and possibly also upgrade to latest OS.

None of the OS1.x unlocking tools are supported on OS 2.x or higher.

If you use OS X you should use pwnagetool and load custom firmware in dfu mode.

Otherwise on windows use blackra1n To initially jailbreak then restore a custom ipsw created by pwnagetool.

I used blackra1n and successfully able to jailbreak and now stuck for unlocking. I was expecting to use blacksn0w but I dont see that option in blackra1n app, after that tried downloading bootneuter from Cydia but it failed with error "http://apt.bigboss.us.com Host unreachable".

Now I will try your suggestion of using "custom ipsw created by pwnagetool" but I've no idea how to customize ipsw. I've downloaded pwnagetool tool but can you help me out in creating this custom ipsw which can work on my iPhone?

Details of my iPhone are:
Version: 3.1.2 (7D11)
Model: MA712LL
Modem Firmware: 04.05.04_G
WiFi:00:1F:5B:536:5F

Are you running OS X?

Cydia has a known problem at the moment, it will be workin again within a day or so.

Even when Cydia does work, I don't recommend manually running bootneuter, it is too easy to screw things up if you don't understand the options it presents.

Pwnagetool automates the bootneuter process (as does redsn0w but that only works for OS 3.0.x)
