Glad to hear that my fumbling around paid of for more people than just me, but surely there should be an easier way? Hopefully the hack will be updated to allow for easy editing and re-editing of ALL settings in Cellular Data.

The editing of the apn settings has nothing todo with the hack. It's a setting in the ipcc (carrier.plist) file. Either you know how todo it or you read through the hundreds of posts about how to create your own carrier file.

I just sent 3 mms and received 2. I doubt that those 5 mms would cause the batterylife to decrease in half. Maybe there is some memory leak or something polling that drain the iPhones battery.

topic how to do it.
To install ipcc profiles with iTunes you have to change iTunes settings. For
PC and
Mac.
You might also want to try going to
help.BenM.at - Mobileconfigs für dein iPhone | BenM.at with you iphone and installing the mobileconfig file for your provider.

I will see if it gets any better or I have to install mobileterminal and check what is running. Does syslog list all errors?

I've just created a carrier bundle and mms seems to be working ok. It remains to be seen if the battery will last as long as it used before the mms stuff. I have already installed mobile terminal and didn't notice any unusual processes eating up processor power. That's why i initially thought about the gsm transceiver trying to communicate to the network as this is not detectable in the OS by checking the processes.
