Mac does not see iPhone
Hi!
My Mac (MacBookPro) does not see the iPhone (2G, OS3.0, jailbroken/unlocked using PWNAGE tool v3.0 back in July 2009).
Everything worked fine until now - suddenly iPhone was not showing up in iTunes or any other program (eg Aperture) and even the PWNAGE tool does not see that it is connected via USB cable. It is charging from the Mac but that's about it. Otherwise everything works fine on the iPhone (calls, sms, etc). But of course I can't sync anymore.
I tried reinstalling iTunes (cleaned it all up, etc), also tried on my home iMac and different USB cables - nothing works.
Please help! Thanks DevTeam!

Check the dock connector socket on the phone for any foreign material or damaged connections. It is also possible that something (water damage, bad cable) fried the part of the chip that controls USB/data access. It is likely separate to the part that controls charging/power

Thanks for your prompt response.
That sounds like a dead end, right? Or is it repairable do you think?
Any other solutions to try before I through out the iPhone?

Problem solved!
You are right the USB dock connector in the iPhone was faulty. In case anyone in Sydney, Australia needs iPhone hardware repairs I can recommend this place in Chatswood:
iPhone Screen Repair | iPod Repair | iPhone Doctor
Replaced the part on the day and I am back up and running.
Thanks Olethros for pinpointing the problem!
