Low WiFi signal, any suggestions?
Hi all,
I have been lurking here for sometime but have always found an answer. But now I am stuck.
I have updated/unlocked/jailbroken this phone so many times its hard to remember everything I have done. But, I have updated to 3.1.2 and used blackra1n to hacktivate. Everything is fine but my WiFi reception is VERY low. Bluetooth is fine.
I have to be on top of my router to get any signal on my iPhone. What is going on? Any ideas would be great!

Still not sure what is going on. I am inclined to think that's it a hardware issue.
I downgraded to 1.1.4 and used iLiberty+ to do everything. Modem Firmware is 04.04.05_G
Any ideas left for me to try?

Probably is a hardware issue. There were only two common problems that impacted wifi on the 2G, one was the grey wifi (problems with wifi calibration tables) and the other was no wifi/bluetooth address. Both were related to badly written unlock tools (ziphone especially)
That is the correct baseband for OS 1.1.4. You should have baseband 04.05.04_G on any OS higher than 1.1.4.

I am just wondering here...maybe someone can chime in...
I was always under the impression that Bluetooth and WiFi ran on the same board so if Bluetooth is working why the issue with WiFi? Thats why I am not giving up since one works and the other does.
Also, where on the board would it be located, maybe I could crack open the phone and look into it a bit...

Yes they run on the same antenna but not the same. Have you tested to see if wifi improves when you disable bluetooth?
