Jailbroke Iphone 2g 3.1.2 with Spirit: Now I need to Unlock It
Hey everyone, I jailbroke an Iphone 2g 3.1.2 with Baseband 04.05.04_G with Spirit. Can anyone point me to the correct tool to use in order to unlock the phone now?
Blackrain initially gave me issues when I was trying to use it to jailbreak.
I was thinking about redsn0w particularly this guide Download redsn0w (redsnow) 0.9 beta3 to Jailbreak and Unlock iPhone and iPod Touch 3.1.2 | technoNix
Starting at Step 6 is that possible?
I would be extremely helpful if you could provide me with the necessary assistance.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I would advise against using spirit when you also need to unlock.
For 2G and 3G iPhones spirit has little value. The existing tools work very well.
On a 2G iPhone I would just start with redsn0w (or pwnagetool) from the first step. The only time I would use another tool (spirit or blacksn0w) is if I had a broken home/power button and could not easily enter DFU mode as is required for redsn0w or pwnagetool.

Olethros, thanks a lot for your reply, no one has really replied to me.
So basically I would need to restore the iphone then and then attempt redsn0w?

Olethros, I had downloaded all the files for that method and at the last minute didnt follow through from Saturday morning. Anyhow, quick question in the guide you will notice that it tells you from the very start the files you need which includes iPhone1,1_3.1.3_7E18_Restore.ipsw. However, later down in the guide in step 5 it shows 3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw being loaded into redsn0w. Which one is correct should both firmwares be used in the process?

All was going well with redsn0w until it got stuck on Please wait while your device is being processed. Please see picture of where the software got stuck.

The waiting for reboot happens for some users. It is usually fixed by disconnecting and then reconnecting the iPhone to the USB port.
Other things that can help, a different computer or trying a different USB port on your computer.
I removed your huge screenshot also. Next time just capture the redns0w window not your entire desktop.
