[Jailbreak 3.0] 02.28 Doesn't Play Nice
Hey guys,
The reason the Dev team havn't released pwnage for 3.0 is because many of you are using iPhone 3G that is unlocked with yellowsn0w, therefore you have 2.2.1 with the 2.2 baseband (02.28).
However, iPhone 3.0 OS doesn't communicate with the 02.28 baseband meaning all you get is an expensive iPod Touch.
I got this info from MuscleNerd's twitter.

What about for us using 3.0 on a locked/factory unlocked device who have no need for yellowsn0w? I fail to see how that can be a reason for not releasing a jailbreak, as the only people who would be on 3.0 right now are the ones who don't need yell0wsnow anyways...

Hi Guys
@ SebSter85... MuscleNerd has posted HERE & explained the reason the Dev Team are reluctant to offer any kind of jailbreak for 3.0 beta.
As much as I'd love to have access to the file system myself on 3.0 beta, I think what MuscleNerd is saying about Apple tweaking the method of protecting the key makes a lot a sense.

There is so much to explore on OS 3.0, just get a dev account and best have a spare 3G iPhone handy for testing 3.0 - no need for a jailbreak.
Everything else concerning jailbreak etc is said and said again and again - and makes awful sense.

Fair enough, I wasn't aware of all the other issues - I was replying just to the reason given regarding the other unlock. Yeah it does make sense, although having announced that there is a jailbreak is probably just as bad as releasing it, Apple will surely take measures to tweak around their security before final release regardless.
But you're right, my only desire was just playing around with jailbreak apps on the 3.0. It's so unstable as it is, adding jailbroken applications would only mess it up more, im sure.

I agree on that. Even some of the apps from apples store screw up os 3. I gues we will see more betas in the future and summer is not that far away, my guess would be around WWDC (Apple Developer Connection - Worldwide Developers Conference 2009) beginning of June. Thats like 10 weeks to a stable system and I'd bet the Dev team will present a Jailbreak soon after the release ;-)
