iPhone exceptionally Sluggish after 36-48 hours or so
OK, so I posted previously about a home button issue, which seems to have mystically fixed itself -- it hasn't happened to me in over two weeks. What HAS happened, and is very annoying, is this:
After the phone has been on for 36 hours or so, maybe 48, and someone sends me an SMS, the iPhone goes out to lunch. It plays me the SMS received tone and shows me I received an SMS on the screen, but if I tell it to view the SMS, the screen fades out, a blank SMS screen loads for about 15 seconds, then crashes back to the home screen. At this point, the phone becomes exceptionally sluggish. It takes between 5-10 seconds to switch between app pages on the home screen, and it takes 15-20 seconds to open any app that will open. Most apps will not open and do the same thing SMS does -- give me a blank screen for 10-15 seconds and then crash back to the home screen.
I don't know if this is directly related to it being on that long or if it is related to getting the SMS after that long -- but I suspect the SMS is just how I'm noticing the phone has gone to lunch, I don't think getting the SMS causes it...
A power cycle of the phone fixes the issue for another 36-48 hours.... Just like every other issue with the beta 5 firmware. Amazing how Beta 4 was exceptionally stable for me and Beta 5 is a complete and total trash-heap when it comes to stability. I was hoping for beta 6 before WWDC but everyone is saying that there won't be one. Boo.
Beta 5 FTL.

my phone has been extremely sluggish as well. I am also having problems with my signal. Every now and again I can not find a signal and it take forever to get an app running. I need to run istat in order to free up some memory and sometimes that doesn't even help. Oh well hopefully I can get my hand on the official 3.0 sometime this week.
