iphone 3g wont connect to data after restore-will before!
Hi
My data connection wont work- safari just keeps saying it is not connected to the internet when the APN is set up and should work...
so I wiped my fone, jailbroke it back to 3.1.2(redsnow) and unlocked it (ultrasnow)- now data works no problem...
Do a restore of my backup- data no longer works- the restore hasn't even put apps back on yet just contact calender and photos...
Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem please?
Also when I plug in my iphone I get the error message- "itunes unable to load data provider from sync services" - I had this sorted out before I did a full back up yesterday prior to wiping my phone back to factory setting - but I have had this message for a few weeks now and thought i finally had it fixed!
Any suggestions to help me fix my broken data connection would be seriously grateful please!!!
btw using itunes 9 0 2 25 and its an iphone 3g 8gb
thanks

This is one of the reasons we recommend setting the phone up as a new phone and manually copying any important content databases over -- there is a lot of trash that gets backed up and restored onto the phone when you do it through iTunes and it has caused countless problems for a large amount of people -- whether it be the Youtube problems of the 3.0 and betas, or the networking issues that crop up, wifi issues, etc.
Recommendation is to do a full sync with iTunes, ensure you have your pictures backed up, make sure you sync contacts to your PC and don't just save them in iTunes backup, then use SSH to pull the important databases from /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS and /private/var/mobile/Library/CallHistory
Re-flash the phone (you've got a 3G so no SHSH requirement), but set it up as a new iphone. Copy the databases over manually, and let it sync up. That should fix the issue.
