with a 2g iphone upgraded to 3.0
didn't try the freezer thing yet.
did anyone upgraded to 3.0.1? maybe this helps

any other idea? i got no way to go online with the iphone and this sucks!

The freezer trick is just for when the iPhone heats to much. And it's not a fix, since once the iPhone heats again the WiFi will drop again.

Ok, dont want to hijack a thread here, but I got a revision 1 iPhone 2G 8GB that is saying "UNABLE TO SCAN FOR WIFI" after the firmware 3.0 upgrade using winPwn.

The device is fully unlocked and working, except it is not receiving wifi at all? Any ideas except the freezer? No way I'm putting my device in the freezer to build condensation on the board.

This has got to be Apple shenanigans...first prob I had with 3.0 and Ultrasn0w was loss of GPS on a 3G, now this no WiFi bullshit on a 2G.

Looking for solutions folks!

If SBS is installed it might conflict with Wifi ( I read through this blog only)

Uninstall SBS and see any improvement

I am also facing this problem from a few days. After restarting or restoring it works cool but after a while problem occurs again. I am tired of it.

I have a similar problem, but with the signal, the wifi works fine, ive tried the freezer for a few mins and I get full bars for about 15 mins then no service or 1 bar but cant make calls,

ive tried all types of upgrades and downgrades its not jailbroken, but signal problem stays the same

can someone if pos explain what may be wrong, if it works after cooling theres must be a reason!!!

i have iphone 3G bought in mexico in december 2008, in may of this year the wifi repently stop working
it says: "Unable to connect the network ..."
so i did:
Restore.
Reset Network Settings
Reset all.
Update to 3.01
Setup as a new iphone.

also i bought the wifi part, changed and nothing happend
so i want to know what i need to do.
Also i dont know how to downgrade
