Hey guys!

i have a guy here who updated his 2G on itunes to SW 3.1.2 .... LOL

is it possible for me to downgrade it again to the SW 3.0 by restoring the firmware manually in DFU Mode?

no need to downgrade, use 3.1.2 to create a custom ipsw using pwnagetool. you will find userfriendly instructions on iClarified.com

If I'm not wrong, your iPhone need to be jailbroken or pwned before you can restore with the custom firmware through iTunes....

If that is the case, just downgrade to firmware 3.0 and run redsn0w 0.8 to jailbreak. Then, restore with the custom firmware.
