A couple of days this has surfaced my iPhone (see lower right corner). Does anyone have any idea what could that be. The LCD is not damaged because I can see what is being displayed. Could it be glue between the glass and the LCD?

Actually, the LCD is damaged, but very little, it still shows the image. I had the same problem with my 2G after a friend dropped.
From my experience the "spot" grows, so it may be a little bigger in a week, I don't know if this will happen to you too.

It is not glue and the only way to fix is replace LCD, which is a big pain on the iPhone 2G, you would have to replace the whole LCD+digitizer+glass and it will probably cost you too much and it might not be worth it....
