How to enable MMS toggles on iPhone 2G?
Does anybody know which file needs to be edited on order to enable MMS toggles on the iPhone 2G and what strings should be added (in case it's just a .plist file)?

(The toggles are located in settings->messages)

Well, first you need to edit the core capabilities plist in springboard.app and add a key called "mms" with a boolean value of true. After that, you probably need the prefs app and the messages app from a 3G to get everything working.
This is, of course, assuming that there isn't some kind of lower level check like there is with the video camera, for example.

New development there is that you don't have to replace AppSupport file, but there's other way:
1) Add the following code to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/M68AP.plist
<key>mms</key>
<true/>
2) Then everything goes to the function -[CTMessageCenter isMmsConfigured] which is located in CoreTelefony framework and always returns false. Temporary patch (author suggests that this needs to be sorted out properly):

After this you will get MMS switch in setting, which will properly enable and disable Camera icon in SMS app.

When you install the MMS functionality in Cydia. You just can go into settings / messages and turn off MMS.

I followed the iClarified guide, problem the network settings for MMS do not stay saved. They APN and password fields remain blank even when entered, and thus it won't work. Suggestions?
I've also tried hard coding them into the carrier.plist, but nothing different (ie they remain blank for MMS).
EDIT: Apparently a common issue if the MMS APN is different from the EDGE APN.

Go through the MMS settings and I am sure you will get the option toggle. Form there activate toggles. I did it in the same way. Hope it will work for you. Good luck!
