Hi, I have a 2g iPhone with the old baseband that was easily jailbroken, with software version 2.2.1 (5H11). I am looking to update my iPhone to 3.0 now the latest version available is 3.1.3 but I want to update to a version thats stable... can anyone please suggest what version should i update to, and what way should i go about doing so.

2G iPhones, any OS version is pretty much safe. Unlock is permanant and it's possible to downgrade OS if you restore to an OS that can't be jailbroken yet.

Hi Olethros,
I have a similar iphone as detailed above and I had wifi when I had jailbreaked it earlier. But now I have no wifi, can I still upgrade to 3.1.2?

And also please can you let me know how do I bck my data up which I can restore post upgradeand jailbreak??

I'd like to go from 2G 2.2 to 3.1.2 or 3.1.3. Ive been reading that there are no issues as such.

Question is... right now which one of the two is more Hack-/Modfriendly.
i.e.
MMS, Tethering etc etc. A lot of stuff works / simply works better.

you should use 3.1.2 it is still more hack/mod friendly.

If you find app-store apps that require 3.1.3 there is a tweak you can install from Cydia to trick the apps into installing on 3.1.2
