I am running Windows Vista 32 Bit and everytime I try to download the iphone version 3.0 restore file it keeps saving it as a .zip file and won't let me save it as the .ipsw file.
Even after extracting all of the files from the compressed file there is no .ipsw file to be found. Why won't it let me download it as the original.ipsw file? has anybody else had the download automatically defaulting to a .zip compressed file instead of being able to save it as the .ipsw file?

Try just renaming the .zip to .ipsw

i to am running vista and am having the same problems have tryied changing from zip to ipsw but no good

Where are you downloading it from? You can see the .zip at the end of the filename and you change it to .ipsw and that doesn't work?
What proogram are you using to download it?
